Lesson Objectives:
  • Students will be able to define the words:  knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, within the context of Proverbs. 
  • Students will be able to distinguish the differences among definitions: knowledge, understanding, and wisdom.
  • Students will be able to summarize the intended message of Proverbs 2:1-6. 
  • Students will be introduced to the term: synonym.  
MN ELA Standards Addressed:
  • 5.1.2.2/6.4.2.2 - Determine the theme or central idea of a text.
  • 5.1.4.4/6.4.4.4 - Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, including figurative and connotative meanings.

Being able to write is a skill that will help you in life. Communication is the most important thing in the world, at least that is what I believe in. I mean, if you can communicate in a number of ways, then you will be able to reach a lot of people. Communicating with others allows you to network, which will eventually allow you to be more formidable. Writing is a skill that everyone needs to acquire as long as they are alive.
